SRINAGAR — The Kashmir Power Development Corporation Limited (KPDCL) on Friday said that Kashmir valley will witness additional power curtailments for the next two weeks.
An official of KPDCL attributed the reasons for the curtailment to the damaged transmission tower of the Samba-Amargarh line.
Due to landslides at Thanamandi Rajouri, a tower of 400 KV Sambha-Amargarh Sterlite Transmission Line has toppled, because of land erosion as a result of which power supply to Kashmir Valley has got partially affected since intervening night of 20th & 21st January 2022, the official said.
“We are short of availability of power by 10%, this has resulted in additional curtailments. Restoration works have been taken up in hand by a concerned agency and will take about 10-15 days. Consumers are requested to bear with the corporation and inconvenience caused to the general public is regretted,” the official added.
