“Unknown militant on Tuesday critically injured a policeman in south Kashmir’s Shopian district,” officials said.
SRINAGAR — A Jammu and Kashmir cop was critically injured at Amshipora area of south Kashmir’s Shopian District, after he was shot by unidentified gunman on Tuesday evening.
“Unknown militant on Tuesday critically injured a policeman in south Kashmir’s Shopian district,”officials said.
A top police officer told news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) that militant fired upon the police constable identified as Shabir Ahmad leaving him in a pool of blood.
The injured Shabir Ahmad Wagay, son of Ghulam Hasan Wagay is resident of Amshipora Shopian.
The policeman was immediately shifted to hospital in ‘critical’ conditions, he said.

Soon after the attack, the officer said that the entire area was cordoned off and searches were launched and a case was also being registered.
