Ten persons arrested over allegations of working for Jaish arrested persons to be presented before NIA court and the SIA is likely to seek the custody of the arrested persons for questioning.
SRINAGAR — The State Investigation Agency (SIA) has arrested ten persons for allegedly working as Over Ground Workers of Jaish-e-Mohammad militant outfit during raids in south and central Kashmir, officials said on Wednesday.
In a statement, a spokesperson of the agency said that SIA conducted overnight raids at ten different locations in various districts of south and central Kashmir.
“These raids were primarily focused on the network of JeM and ten identified persons who were part of OGW modules and taking instructions from (JeM) commanders were arrested.”
The statement said that besides arrests, cell phones, SIM cards, records to show use of banking channels, and even a dummy pistol were seized.
It reads that the digital records seized are being sent to Forensic Scientific Laboratory (FSL) for evidence analysis and the arrested persons would be presented before the NIA court in Srinagar seeking permission for custodial questioning. (Agencies)
