SHOPIAN — Two armed forces personnel were killed after the Sumo they were traveling in met with an accident near Kanipora village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Official sources said that a Sumo carrying soldiers from 44 RR Chowgam Camp was on its way to the operation site at Budigam.
They said the driver lost control of the vehicle and it skidded off the road. Four armed forces personnel were injured in the mishap.
Sources added that the injured were shifted to District Hospital Shopian, where two among them succumbed. They said that the remaining two injured personnel have been evacuated to 92 Base Army hospital Srinagar.
Meanwhile, police said that two militants have been killed in Budigam Shopian military operation. Police said that the operation is underway. (KNT)
