Journalist Fahad Shah Again Booked Under UAPA

SRINAGAR — Fahad Shah has been booked under the unlawful activities prevention act (UAPA) for the second time, his lawyer Umair Ronga said Friday.
“Today journalist Fahad Shah was remanded for 5 days in the Srinagar case — the third arrest. He has been booked under UAPA again. Second UAPA in the last 37 days,†Umair Ronga tweeted.
The Jammu Kashmir Police had said that Fahad Shah is wanted in three cases for “glorifying terrorism, spreading fake news & inciting the general public for creating law and order situationsâ€.
Police said that FIR No. 70/2020 of PS Safa Kadal Srinagar, FIR No. 06/2021 of PS Imam sahib, Shopian are registered against Fahad Shah and he has currently been arrested in FIR No. 19/2022 of Police Station Pulwama.
Shah was arrested by the Pulwama police on February 4 this year.
