BONIYAR — Authorities on Saturday sealed a gas agency in Ijara village of Boniyar tehsil after alleged misuse of Ujjwala Yojna Scheme in the area.
An official told a local news agency, Kashmir News Service, that locals had alleged that Ujwala Yojna Scheme has been misused in Boniyar as they were asked to pay Rs 1,550 for a free cylinder by HP Gousia Agency.
He said that after receiving the complaint, authorities today sealed the gas agency.
Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana was launched by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi in May 2016, to distribute 50 million LPG connections to women of Below Poverty Line (BPL) families. A budgetary allocation of Rs 80 billion was made for the scheme.
