KOKERNAG — An armed forces personnel has been killed in an ongoing military operation in Watnar Kokernag area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
A senior police officer told Global News Service that in the initial exchange of firing one army personnel of 19 Rashtriya Rifles received a serious bullet wound.
He was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment; however, he succumbed to his injuries, the officer added.
The operation, according to police officials, started after armed forces received specific information about the presence of militants in the area.
