All 520 Schools of Bandipora District Ordered To Ensure Flag Hoisting on Jan 26

The order signed by the CEO directed the school principals, ZEOs and Headmasters to ensure flag-hoisting on 24th January (full dress rehearsal) and 26th January 2022 (Indian Republic Day) in every Primary School, Middle School, High School, and Higher Secondary School of the district.

SRINAGAR — The Chief Education Officer Bandipora on Monday ordered all the schools in his jurisdiction to ensure flag-hoisting on January 26, the Indian Republic Day.

The order was issued after Deputy Commissioner Bandipora held a meeting with higher officials of the district on January 19. Teachers have been asked to capture a video of the function and submit it to the “official” WhatsApp group of the Chief Education Officer.

The order issued by the CEO reads: “…it is hereby ordered that the flag-hoisting on 24th January (full dress rehearsal) and 26th January 2022 (Republic Day) is mandatory to take place in every PS (Primary School), MS (Middle School), HS (High School) and HSS (Higher Secondary School) in all 520 schools of the district.”

The order further states that two video clips or pictures in landscape form be uploaded on the official WhatsApp group of “this office”.

Many local teachers of the district have lamented the order and said that armed forces came to their schools early in the morning today and enquired about the preparations.

“We have been ordered to remain present in our schools on 26th,” a local teacher said.

Pertinently, the Divisional Kashmir administration has already closed all the activities in coaching centres and other institutions amid the Covid-19 surge.

“When even coaching centres have been closed due to the rise in the covid cases, what is the fun of having such functions and unnecessary gatherings,” the teacher lamented.
