SRINAGAR — Twenty-four persons were killed in the concluding month of March across the Kashmir Valley in different militancy-related incidents. These include a Panch, 2 Sarpanchs, 4 civilians, 2 cops, a soldier, and a trooper. Besides 13 militants including two non-local militants as per police were killed in March.
The data available reveals that 58 persons have been killed in the first three months of the ongoing year. The month of March witnessed 24 human casualties, followed by January with 23 killings. February recorded 11 killings among which 7 were local militants, a policeman, 2 soldiers, and a civilian.
This year to date, joint forces have neutralized 41 militants including an infiltrator in 26 encounters. These include 30 local and 11 non-local militants.
Five policemen, 3 soldiers, and a trooper were also killed in the first three months of the ongoing current year.
