Bilqis Zaffar, Zareen Chowdary and Razia Bano, presently posted at PHC Chuntimulla, have been placed under suspension with immediate effect for absconding from their legitimate duties.
BANDIPORA — Authorities on Saturday suspended at least three staff members of a Primary Health Center (PHC) in a remote Chuntimulla village in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district for “absconding from their duties”.
In a letter from Block Medical Officer (BMO) Bandipora to Chief Medical Officer under number BMO/BPR/NHM -184, reads that Bilqis Zaffar, Zareen Chowdary and Razia Bano, Female Multiporpose Health Workers (FMPHWs), presently posted at PHC Chuntimulla have been placed under suspension with immediate effect for absconding from their legitimate duties.
According to a news agency Kashmir News Observer, the hospital has been running without proper staff for the last many years, thus leaving the local residents to lurch at large.
Due to the lack of doctors and pharmacists, the large population of seven villages falling under five panchayats are deprived of health care facilities.
The PHC was initially 18 bed and later it was upgraded to 33 but there is a constant lack of medical staff. (Agencies)
